\n\tKid Cudi <\/a>is stepping away from music to focus on his other creative endeavors. <\/p>\n

\n\tPrior to the expected hiatus, Cudi released an ethereal track titled \u201cOnce\u201d to his SoundCloud on Sunday (Sept. 28) and explained that it serves as a letter to his fans. \u201cThis is a goodbye for now song,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt was produced by myself with my homie Sebastian addin\u2019 extra sauce here and there. Taking a break but wanted to leave u [with] something special and from the heart. [You\u2019ll] be hearing me featured on my friends\u2019 albums but as far as me, I gotta step into the shadows and focus on my other dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCudi posted a video to X, clarifying everything surrounding his upcoming absence, which will include a \u201cpretty lengthy break\u201d between now and the release of his next album. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s gonna be a while between now and the next Kid Cudi album,\u201d he said. \u201cSo I wanted to leave you with a little something that could motivate you, uplift you\u2026 I made it earlier this year, just f\u2014ing around in the studio.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this month, Kid Cudi directed and starred in his \u201cMr. Miracle\u201d short film alongside LaKeith Stanfield. Cudi spoke to <\/em>Billboard<\/em> <\/a>about his plans for more short films in the future. \u201cPeople will be able to see\u00a0Neverland<\/em>\u00a0soon,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re working on a way for that to come out so fans can absorb that \u2014 I know a lot of people have been excited to see it, and it\u2019s coming soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCudi continued: \u201cBut I am definitely going to direct more short films in the future. I just finished writing my next one. It\u2019s a really beautiful, heartwarming, funny short that I feel like a lot of people will connect with \u2014 a lot of my fans will connect with it. It\u2019s a powerful piece and I can\u2019t wait for you all to see that. Hopefully we shoot next month, so that\u2019s moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Ohio native\u2019s been busy in September, which saw him also guest on Lakeith Stanfield\u2019s debut single \u201cFast Life.\u201d<\/a> With music moving to the back-burner, fans can expect Cudi to focus more<\/a> on directing, acting, painting and fashion.<\/p>\n
