\n\tJohnson, who is nominated for entertainer of the year at the upcoming Country Music Association Awards, took to social media to post that \u201cwhile battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my ear drum,\u201d and must undergo immediate surgery. \u201cThe healing process will take many weeks,\u201d he continued, \u201cand it is not possible for me to sing during this time.\u201d\u00a0 He added that without the surgery, downtime would be even longer, lasting for months.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love,\u201d he concluded. \u201cThank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson had six dates left in 2025 on his current arena tour, including an Oct. 18 show at Pittsburgh\u2019s PPG Paints Arena, as well as two shows at Birmingham, Alabama\u2019s Legacy Arena at the BJCC.\u00a0Johnson is now slated to return to the road on Feb. 14 at Louisville\u2019s KFC Yum! Center and is also a headliner for Stagecoach in April in Indio, California.<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson, who is signed to Warner Music Nashville, has had a great run the last few years, including his latest album Leather<\/em> taking home CMA Awards\u2019 album of the year in 2024. In addition to entertainer of the year, he is also up for male vocalist of the year and music event of the year and music video of the year for \u201cI\u2019m Gonna Love You\u201d featuring Carrie Underwood at this year\u2019s CMA Awards. Johnson was the leading male nominee for this past May\u2019s Academy of Country Music Awards, snagging six nominations and taking home song of the year for \u201cDirt Cheap.\u201d<\/p>\n
